Dear friends and family,
We wanted to be sure to get out a quick update on how things are going and what's going on with us. Avery turned 6 yesterday, July 6. 6 months that is. Check out her passport and her most recent video. Below are other updates on our finances and an event we'll be holding in August. As always, we'd LOVE to visit with your Sunday school, small group or other gathering.
Pray for Fellowship's Short-term Trip:
You may remember that Allison and I had the opportunity to visit Sudan on a short trip. This accomplished many goals like solidifying a relationship with our church's Sudan initiative, solidifying our desire to carry out our work in Sudan, and many other things. Thank you to those who made that trip possible. Thank you to those of you who have been praying over us during our times of uncertainty when we did not know where and how God would be using us. We've come a long way since then.
A team of Fellowship members is leaving this week to go to Sudan once more. This will eventually be a bi-annual trip in hopes that by returning to the same location over a period of time, they can make a more lasting impact than choosing a different location each year. They will be gone July 11-21. Please pray for their health and effectiveness. If you'd like to know more, email or call me to chat about it.
Out of Town:
Allison, Avery and I are all in Milwaukee, Wisconsin right now. We are meeting with friends and family to show off Avery and with hopes that we may come away with a few more donor relationships. Please pray that God would provided those opportunities and that those people or groups would receive us well.
Our Finances:
We are pleased to tell you that our financial support has taken and upward hike as of late and we are around 85% of our need. Some of you have indicated that you would like to support us and have waited for us to leave. Please begin your pledged support as we feel we are only 2 months out from going 'active' and we need to have 100% of our support started a month prior to going active. We have high hopes of leaving Dallas in September.
Dessert in Dallas:
Taylor's parents, Jay & Lynda Martyn, will be hosting a dessert at their home in Dallas on two different days in early August. We hope that you could attend if you are in the area. We will be sending out invitations shortly. If you would like to be sure we have you on the invitation list, PLEASE email me and we will be sure you are invited.
Following this function, we hope to be able to confidently say that we have reached 100% through the donations made that evening, allowing us to leave for Africa.
